Jenae is my middle sister —we’re only 15 months apart, so we grew up doing just about everything together. We may clash now and then (classic sisters!), but our love for each other runs deep. I admire Jenae’s fearless honesty and the way she stands strong in her beliefs. She’s hard-working, fiercely loyal, and never afraid to tell it like it is—which makes her the perfect person to keep me grounded during this whole wedding whirlwind. I know she’ll always have my back, even when I need a little tough love.

Milton Jordan

Best Man

Milton is the father of the groom and John’s best man in title and practice. My father’s love, guidance, patience and encouragement over the years has formed an unshakable foundation for me. I credit him for instilling in me an unquenchable desire to unlock the best in me. Most importantly, he taught me to be kind. I aspire to be as good of a man as my father.

Ashia Ka’anehe

Maid of Honor

Ashia is my baby sister—six years younger, my fellow May baby, and Taurus queen. She’s always been a steady, supportive presence in my life, showing up without judgment and letting me fully lean into my big sister energy (which she handles like a champ, LOL).

Ashia is fiercely independent, witty, thoughtful, and kind-spirited. She’s the kind of person who makes you feel safe and seen. One of my favorite chapters together was living in my one-bedroom apartment during COVID with a toddler (my nephew Kobe, who was 1.5 at the time). That time could’ve driven anyone apart, but it brought us even closer—and that says a lot.

David Jordan

Groomsman

David is the groom’s younger brother of six years. While they may differ in age, their level of brotherly love and connection is immeasurable and unwavering. Although he is my “little brother” I look up to him in numerous respects. He is the most tender-hearted, genuine man I know. I know he will always have my back.

Jade is pure sunshine in human form. Whether we’re singing our hearts out at an Adele concert or planning our next getaway, she’s someone who brings out the best in everyone—especially me. She’s my older half sister, but more than anything, she’s my soul sister. We didn’t grow up together, but our connection is effortless. She’s thoughtful to the core, always willing to go the extra mile for the people she loves, and I’m so honored to have her standing by my side—on my wedding day and throughout life.

Bob McMahon

Groomsman

Robert McMahon (“Bob” to most, “Bobby” to me) is the groom’s best friend of 30+ years. Bob and John have leaned on each other over the years, celebrating our successes and overcoming our challenges. Bob’s sharp wit and humor are his trademarks. His ability to count spilled toothpicks on the floor rivals Rain Man. I am extremely fortunate to call Bobby my closest confidant.

Jessica Jordan

Bridesmaid

Jessica is my soon-to-be bonus daughter, and from the moment we met, she welcomed me with such warmth and love. Even though we’re not officially family just yet, it’s always felt like we already were. Her sweet nature and big heart are just a few of the many things I adore about her. She keeps life real, fun, and full of heart—she’s a true force of nature. I’m so grateful to be part of her life, and I can’t wait to officially call her family.

Lucas is the groom’s first-born son. From the day he was born, Lucas was sweet, loving and laidback. Thankfully, those traits have carried over into his adulthood. I am immensely proud of the man Lucas has become. He is strong, independent, thoughtful, generous, and kind. God has truly blessed me.
